Brief : to create a piece of work in 1.5 hrs out of your comfort zone, not in a usual medium you would use, not a usual subject matter, in a different environment, linked to your Words project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My inspiration came from putting tea bags in the recycling bin. I had built up quite a collection during the day. My project word is \u201cHats\u201d from \u201cCollection\u201d.  I strung together some tea bags using cotton thread, and then some egg shells. From the recycling bin I retrieved cardboard tubes, plastic bottles, cans, colourful packaging from various parcels.  I made an installation in my garden, using the rotary washing line, and waste items from the recycling bins. It was quite a windy afternoon, so the plastic bags and other items I attached to the line using cotton thread had movement and swayed. When I went to take a photo of my work, I accidentally filmed it as my iphone camera was in video mode. Looking at it afterwards, I found it was better in motion, so took further video and some photos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The installation was to create awareness and remind of the shocking amount of items we consume that have disposable packaging. Some of this is recyclable, as is food waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
